2011Chinese New Year Celebration

According to Chinese tradition, people return to their parents' home to gather together with all the brothers and sisters at least once a year to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It is a festive time to recharge oneself in the joyous atmosphere of the family reunion and to look to great prospects of the future.

On February 12th, all the Chan practitioners from all over Taiwan gathered together for an annual reunion with the Chan Master Wu Jue Miao Tian to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
We came to Nangang Exhibition Hall. And there were more than 10,000 people gathered together!

Outside the entrance of the celebration, we already feel a festive atmosphere.

At the celebration, the main stage is huge!

Sand painting performance: The artist paints with sand and outlines the story of the lineage of Chan Masters, from the Buddha to the Sixth Patriarch Huike to our current 85th Chan Patriarch Wu Jue Miao Tian. Each Chan Patriarch is associated with an image representing a special story or theme.

And the image of our current Master is a globe, signifying the Master’s wish to adhere to Buddha’s great vow to turn the earth into pure land.
